Puerto Rico opens their lead in the second round of the 2019 CGA Four Ball Championships with 43 points. With a very rainy second day out on the Champion Course at PGA National, the standings for the the Ambrose Gouthro Cup for the Overall Best Performing Country has Jamaica at 40 points, Bahamas (26), Cayman Islands (23), Barbados (20), Trinidad & Tobago (11), Turks & Caicos Islands (11), and US Virgin Islands (10).
Erick Morales and Tommy Smith of Puerto Rico hold on to the top spot in the Ramon Baez Romano Trophy Flight (Men 35+) with the best performance of the day. They shot 5-under par for 67, posting five birdies to end round 2 with an overall score of 137.
“We played a really solid round with a clean score card-- better than yesterday,” says Erick Morales. “We’re looking forward to going low tomorrow. This is a team event and we are proud that Puerto Rico is a strong contender to win overall.”

Jamaica Leads in 4 Categories & Puerto Rico Overall Best
This week 62 golfers from 8 Caribbean countries are competing in the 2019 CGA Four-Ball hosted by the Caribbean Golf Association at PGA National’s Champion Course (Home of The PGA Tour Honda Classic and The Famous “Bear Trap”), Thursday, October 10, through Saturday, October 12.
Jamaica claims lead in 4 out of 5 Flights in Round 1, however, Puerto Rico edges Jamaica out of the top spot with 22 points to Jamaica’s 21 points in the Ambrose Gouthro Cup for the Overall Best Performing Country.

We may all know a few, or at least one, sports fanatic. However, not many can say they know that person who can quote with authority on not just one sporting event, but multiple sports, multiple disciplines, and not like a robot, but with genuine passion-- the bona fide sports fanatic.
Cesar Romero is that person. The 'living legend' in Caribbean golfing circles happily confesses to being into "almost every sport, every team, every player." And yes, it started at home, at an early age. "My father loved all sports and used to take us to the ball parks to see ball games. My father was a manager at a sugar mill and I grew up participating in many different sports."
