Gilles Gagnon

Gilles Gagnon

The Caribbean Golf Association (CGA) is proud to induct Gilles Gagnon, Senior Golf Sales Director and Director of Golf Emeritus at Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, into the CGA Hall of Fame. This prestigious honor was conferred during the closing ceremony of the 24th Caribbean Golf Classic, held at the Westin Resort in Punta Cana from May 7 to 11, 2019.

Often referred to as "The Face of Caribbean Golf," Gilles Gagnon has made a lasting impact on the growth of golf in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean region. A Montreal native, Gagnon joined Casa de Campo in 1980 as the Golf Operations Director. Since then, he has played a crucial role in developing the resort's world-class golf facilities, which include 90 holes designed by legendary architect Pete Dye. These courses—Teeth of the Dog, The Links, Dye Fore, and the private La Romana Country Club—have become iconic destinations for golfers worldwide. Gagnon also helped establish the resort's golf shops and a full schedule of annual tournaments.

"Gilles is a devoted friend to golf and was instrumental in launching the Caribbean Classic," said Sidney Wolf, CGA President. "The Council of the CGA is pleased to acknowledge his invaluable contributions, not just to our association but to the entire Caribbean golfing community."

Andres Pichardo Rosenberg, President of Casa de Campo, added, "Aside from Pete Dye, no one has had a more profound impact on our resort's status as a premier golf destination than Gilles. His unwavering commitment to promoting golf in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean cements his legacy as one of the sport's true icons."
