Asraph Ali
- Started playing golf at Chaguaramas Golf Club just over 50 years ago
- He served on the Management Committee of St Andrews Golf Club and Chair of Long Range Planning.
- In 2003 he was elected president of the T&TGA and served as president until 2009.
- He recruited the first employees of the T&TGA ( both administrative and golf professionals)
- Secured the first office for the T&TGA
- Led the T&TGA team in some major golf development programs including Strive for Excellence with Henry Brunton Golf Academy of Canada and the introduction of golf to both Primary and Secondary Schools
- Also led team T&TGA that won the Jeffery Stollmeyer Award at the First Citizens Sports Foundation Sports Award in 2007 (The Jeffery Stollmeyer Award is given to a National Governing Sports Body which has showcased initiatives and made significant improvements not only in its administration, but also towards the development of its athletes)
- Asraph represented T&T as a national player in the Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships on eight (8) occasions.
- He served as President of the Caribbean Golf Association 2008 to 2012 and 2016 to 2018 and as a member of the Council for the past 19 years. During which time he has made a significant contribution to the administration and development of golf in the region in addition to securing sponsorships for many of its championships.
- In his professional career, Asraph, has served as a director on the board of thirty two (32) companies across six (6) Caricom Countries including one of the region’s largest public company, Neal and Massy Holdings Limited (Now Massy Limited). He served as Chairman of fourteen (14) of those companies some of which were business enterprises, state training organisations and a Community Development Organisation
- In addition, he is the current chairman of five (5) private companies.
- Holds a BSc (Hons) in Engineering Lifetime Fellow of the Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad & Tobago
